In December 2008, the Group acquired the assets of a retail supermarket chain. The supermarket outlets are located in sub-urban towns in Sabah and operate under the name G-mart.
The retail supermarket operations is synergistic to the Group’s main integrated poultry farming business as it enables the Group to market its poultry and processed food products directly to end consumers on a cash basis, thus enjoying better margins and reduced cash flow risks.
Currently G-mart has 10 retail supermarket outlets.
